SVMHS Mobile Health Clinic Delivers COVID-19 Vaccine to Greenfield

Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) has partnered with Centro Binacional para el Desarrollo Indigena Oaxaqueno (CBDIO) to deliver free COVID-19 vaccine to underserved populations of the community. The Center identified Greenfield as the location for a mobile vaccine clinic on Saturday, June 26.

Trained staff from the SVMHS Mobile Health Clinic will administer the Pfizer vaccine to individuals 12 and older. CBDIO has pre-registered 150 unvaccinated people to receive the shot and is reserving a limited number of slots to accommodate walk-ins. The Mobile Clinic effort is designed to reach segments of the population who have not been able to receive the vaccine because of location, transportation, work conflicts or other obstacles.

“It’s imperative everyone has access to this potentially life-saving vaccine,” said Pete Delgado, Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System President/CEO. “With the economy reopening, we need to vaccinate as many people as possible to protect our community against COVID-19 and the more aggressive variants emerging such as the delta variant.”

In recognizing that many agricultural workers have an early start to their work day, CBDIO scheduled the COVID-19 clinic to take place Saturday from 3pm-8pm at a centralized location in Greenfield, 140 El Camino Real.

To date, SVMHS has administered 51,308 COVID-19 doses to the community.
