Monterey County Gives! is a special project of Monterey County Weekly in partnership with Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, enabling you to donate in traditional ways, or through different types of gifts, such as via your IRA retirement fund.

This year our MCGives! fundraising will support our new Patient Assistance Fund, and we will receive a generous prorated match on the first $75,000 that we raise.

This fund provides patients of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System with financial support for a range of items and services aimed at addressing the health needs of the patient outside of the hospital. As our community faces many challenges as a result of socioeconomic barriers, patients in need can receive funding for equipment or services that they would have otherwise not been able to afford on their own. This assistance program covers things like walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, therapies, medical treatments and more.

Join us by giving today – this great campaign and the match opportunity expire December 31. Please make your check payable to MC Gives and add Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation on the memo line so that we can receive your gift and a generous match. You can also make a gift online at

On behalf of our staff, physicians, nurses, and patients, thank you for your generosity. Together, we can continue to provide high-quality care for patients, and improve the health and well-being of our community.
