Exercise Challenge

February 1st – 28th

Did you know regular physical activity helps prevent chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, depression, and some types of cancer?

SVMHS invites you to join the Exercise Challenge – an annual community-wide fitness challenge that encourages participants to achieve 150 minutes or more of aerobic activity each week during the month of February. Get your body moving, your heart rate up and enjoy the benefits of daily exercise!

SVMHS is also a sponsor of the Blue Zones Project Monterey County, a well-being initiative that aims at improving the health and wellness of our community. The Blue Zones Project has a core set of health and wellness principles called The Power 9, which are inspired by those people around the world who have lived the longest. One of the popular Power 9 principles is Moving Naturally. Exercise Challenge is a great way to implement this principle into your daily routine. To learn more about the Blue Zones Project Monterey County and the other eight wellness principles, click here.

Registration deadline is Monday, February 1, 2021. Registration is now closed, however, we encourage you to sill participate on your own and keep aerobic activity top of mind during the month of February. If you have any questions, contact SVMHS Health Promotion Department at 831-759-1890 or email healthpromotion@svmh.com.

Participants may be eligible for raffle prizes by completing a minimum of 150 minutes of exercise each week. Raffles will be held at the end of the four week challenge.

Turn in your completed chart to the SVMHS Health Promotion Department by March 6th to be entered into a raffle drawing. Charts can be email to healthpromotion@svmh.com or faxed to 831-422-1014.
