Salinas Valley Health Announces New Medical Staff Officers

SALINAS, CA, SEPTEMBER 28, 2017- Salinas Valley Health (Salinas Valley Health) is pleased to announce Medical Staff Leaders taking new roles effective October 1, 2017. Medical Staff Officers are elected by physicians with privileges at the District Hospital and are instrumental in establishing policies, guidelines and recommendations in the delivery of high quality and compassionate care to our patients.

David Ramos, MD is Salinas Valley Health’s new Chief of Staff succeeding Orlando Rodriguez, MD. Dr. Rodriguez is taking on a new leadership position at the hospital as Past Chief of Staff. As Chief of Staff, Dr. Ramos will review matters of clinical importance and be the chief liaison between the publically elected Board of Directors, Executive Leadership and physicians.

Dr. Rodriguez and Dr. Ramos are also physician leaders on the Salinas Valley Health Foundation and have been instrumental in growing outstanding physician engagement. Dr. Ramos has served for the past two years as the Foundation Board President. Dr. Ramos and Dr. Rodriguez have inspired all of the physicians directly affiliated with Salinas Valley Health Medical Center to participate in the donor program. All of our physician donors are recognized in a donor wall of appreciation in the hospital.

In addition to Chief of Staff, Rachel Beck, MD has been elected Vice Chief of Staff and Ted Kaczmar, MD is taking over the roles of Secretary/Treasurer. Physicians also elected Gregory Kanter, MD and Kelly Gram, MD as Medical Executive Members at Large. The terms of all Medical Staff Officers runs through September 30, 2019.
