SVMHS Offers Free CPR Classes

SALINAS, CA, MAY 30, 2017- Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System is participating in the 9th annual American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness Week by offering free classes to the community. SVMHS is offering courses at a number of convenient times to increase awareness and knowledge of proper CPR techniques.

“We are committed to the health and wellness of the community,” says Pete Delgado, President/CEO of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System. “These free CPR and AED classes provide people in our community life saving skills in situations when every second counts. This training can save lives.”

Participants will learn to perform hands only CPR and will also learn how to use an AED. Classes on how to perform CPR on infants will also be offered. American Heart Association courses use a “practice-while-watching” format with the aid of an instructional DVD.
