About the provider

Gregory Kanter, MD, joined medical staff of Salinas Valley Health Clinics Health Care for Women in September, 2016. He earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and a Master’s degree in Biology from Stanford University in Stanford, California. Dr. Kanter completed his obstetrics and gynecology medical residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California and his Urogynecology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Kanter has been practicing medicine since 2009. He is board certified by and a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. During his fellowship at The University of New Mexico, Dr. Kanter obtained advanced training in evaluation and management of pelvic floor disorders. Conditions he treats include, urinary and anal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent UTIs, interstitial cystitis, fistulas involving the genital tract, mesh complica­tions and several other disorders. He offers comprehensive treatment plans customized to patient needs, including up-to-date medical and minimally invasive surgical options.

He resides in Salinas with his wife and two children, and speaks conversational and medical Spanish. In his leisure time, Dr. Kanter enjoys being outside mountain biking, surfing, golfing, music and spending time with friends and family.
