Emergency treatments to limit the risk of disability from stroke are available but underutilized. A practical stroke patient assessment tool suitable for routine use by EMS personnel & nurses is essential.

In 1997, the University of Miami Center for Research in Medical Education developed a hands-on how-to course for health professionals:

• Developed by experts in stroke, emergency medicine, prehospital care, nursing, education.
• Used to train thousands of EMS personnel, nurses, and physicians from over 100 institutions across the U.S.
• Provides a unique neurologic assessment tool ideal for both prehospital and hospital use.
• Consistent with Joint Commission Stroke Center criteria and the AHA/ASA Guidelines.

This comprehensive course covers stroke from arrival at the patient’s home to discharge from the hospital with emphasis on understand stroke location related to symptoms.

All Classes 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Class size is limited, so register early.

$200 for Registered Nurses
