SALINAS, CA, May 21, 2018- The Hartnell College Foundation honored Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) Board Member Alfred Diaz-Infante with the 2018 Leadership Award for his outstanding leadership in support of the College and the Foundation. Diaz-Infante accepted the award during the Hartnell College Foundation 12th Annual Party in the Library at Hartnell College in Salinas. Margaret D’Arrigo-Martin, a Hartnell College Foundation Board member and also fellow colleague of Diaz-Infante on the publicly elected SVMHS Board of Directors helped present the award.

“We congratulate Alfred on receiving this well-deserved recognition,” says Margaret D’Arrigo-Martin, SVMHS Board Member, District 4. “Alfred is always enthusiastic to help our community. Hartnell College, its students and future generations will reap the benefits of his dedication, service and advocacy.”

Alfred Diaz-Infante, a Salinas Native is a Hartnell College alumnus who transferred to Sacramento State and UC Berkeley. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Housing Improvement System and Planning (CHISPA). He has served as a Hartnell College Foundation board member from 2007 to 2017 and as President from 2011 to 2015.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Hartnell College Foundation,” says Alfred Diaz-Infante, SVMHS Board Member, District 3. “This is an educational institution that is near and dear to my heart. It has been an honor to serve our students as they embark in their college careers. I’m incredibly grateful and humbled for the opportunity to serve my community.”

In 2017, Alfred Diaz-Infante was unanimously appointed to the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System Board of Directors for a vacant seat in District 3. Díaz-Infante’s current term runs until November 2018.
