SALINAS, CA, July 6, 2018 – The Marketing Department at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS)
is the recipient of seven awards from two national healthcare advertising
The 35th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards presented the SVMHS marketing team
with two Gold Awards for exceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness.
The Salinas Valley Memorial team also won two Silver Awards in the 2018
Aster Awards national competition, which honors excellence in healthcare
advertising. In addition, the Salinas marketing team received three merit
awards for their work from the 2018 Healthcare Advertising Awards. Each
award was for a unique entry and represented seven projects covering a
range of branding, patient support material and advertising campaigns.
“We are fortunate to have a marketing team whose talents can compete
on a national level,” says Adrienne Laurent, Chief Strategic Communications
Officer. “We’re constantly impressed with their passion and
personal commitment to our Healthcare System and our community.”
2018 Healthcare Advertising Awards Received:
- Gold Award in the category of Annual report for the 2017 SVMHS Community
- Gold Award in the category of Special Event for Healthcare System Branding
during the American Heart Association Walk
- Merit Award in the category of Advertising Series for the Doctors on Duty
Campaign “It’s About Time” and “Minor Emergencies,
- Merit Award in the category of Special Event for the SVMHS Ask The Experts
physician event, “Heart Health”
- Merit Award in the catch all category of Other for the team’s thank
you card design and series for CEO Pete Delgado’s Appreciation Note Cards
2018 Aster Award Winners:
- Silver Award in the category of Patient Education for the Bereavement Services
Brochure and Materials “Coping with Grief”
- Silver Award in the category of Invitations for the Children’s Miracle
Network Hospitals 2017 Gala Invitation, “Miracles Among the Vines”
“I’m blessed with an amazingly talented and creative team,”
says Karina Rusk, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at SVMHS.
“Each of my four team members brings unique skills and experience
to our projects. Perhaps most important, our department operates with
a tremendous amount of teamwork, support and respect for one another.”
The Healthcare Advertising Awards are the oldest, largest and most widely
respected healthcare advertising awards competition in the United States.
A national panel of judges reviewed entries based on creativity, quality,
message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact.
The Aster Awards has been honoring excellence in healthcare advertisement
since 2002 and is considered one of the most elite competitions dedicated
to recognizing the most talented healthcare marketing professionals for
outstanding excellence in advertising, marketing and communications. Entries
are judged by a panel of design and healthcare marketing professionals
with decades of combined experience. The entries are judged on creativity,
layout and design, typography, production, quality and overall effectiveness.
The publicly elected Board of Directors recognized the SVMHS marketing
team at its June 28th meeting.
