SVMHS Offers Free CPR Classes
SALINAS, CA, MAY 30, 2017-
Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System is participating in the 9th
annual American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Awareness Week by offering
free classes to the community. SVMHS is offering courses at a number of
convenient times to increase awareness and knowledge of proper CPR techniques.
“We are committed to the health and wellness of the community,”
says Pete Delgado, President/CEO of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare
System. “These free CPR and AED classes provide people in our community
life saving skills in situations when every second counts. This training
can save lives.”
Participants will learn to perform hands only CPR and will also learn
how to use an AED. Classes on how to perform CPR on infants will also
be offered.American Heart Association courses use a “practice-while-watching”
format with the aid of an instructional DVD.
The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator
classes are open to all community members and their families. The free
classes start every hour on the hour and each program lasts approximately
30 minutes. Classes take place on Thursday June 1, from 3:00-7:00pm; Friday
June 2, 12:00-4:00pm; Saturday June 3, 9:00-2:00pm; Monday June 5, 3:00-7:00pm,
and Wednesday June 7, 2:00-6:00pm. All classes will be taught at the SVMHS
Education Center located at 611 Abbott St. Suite 201 Gabilan Rooms in
