Salinas, CA, September 26, 2013 – Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) welcomes Allen Bernas, MD as the newest member of the medical staff at Salinas Valley Memorial and Salinas Valley Medical Clinic. He recently completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
“We are pleased to have Dr. Bernas join our team of specialists in infectious diseases,” says Pete Delgado, president/CEO of SVMHS. “Dr. Bernas will be able to work with one of the regions most highly regarded leaders in this specialty, Dr. Allen Radner.”
Dr. Bernas earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed an internal medicine residency at Philadelphia’s Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr. Bernas is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
“I am looking forward to helping patients in Monterey County and honored to join the staff at Salinas Valley Memorial,” says Allen Bernas, MD. “I am passionate about using my knowledge to diagnosis and treat people with a wide variety of infectious diseases ranging from sinus infections to HIV.”
Dr. Bernas will move to Monterey County from the South Bay as soon as his wife completes her breast surgery fellowship at Stanford University. The couple recently welcomed an addition to their own family, a baby girl. In his leisure time, Dr. Bernas enjoys running, watching sports and playing with his daughter.
