Spine Procedures
Anterior Cervical Discectomy
A procedure used to relieve pressure on nerve roots and/or the spinal cord by a herniated disc or bone spurs.
Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion
Treats herniated disc or bone spurs, but also places a bone graft between the adjacent vertebrae.
Balloon Kyphoplasty
A non-surgical technique used to treat vertebral compression fractures most commonly the result of osteoporosis.
Corpectomy
A bone graft with or without a metal plate and screws is used to reconstruct the spine and provide stability.
Foraminotomy
A procedure to relieve the symptoms of a “pinched nerve.”
Laminoplasty
Used to treat people with a painfully restricted spinal canal in the neck.
Lumbar Laminectomy
Relieves pressure nerve roots, often called nerve root compression that causes back and leg pain.
Lumbar Microdiscectomy
Through a small incision, a surgical microscope and microsurgical techniques are used to remove the portion of a ruptured disc that is “pinching” one or more spinal nerve roots.
Spinal Fusion
These procedures fuse or unite two bony segments, whether at a fracture or a vertebral joint.
Vertebroplasty
Another non-surgical technique used to treat vertebral compression fractures, again most often caused by the effects of osteoporosis.
