Neonatal Services

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is operated out of a partnership with Stanford's Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.  All of our neonatologists are Stanford clinical professors who live and work here.

Everything in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is state-of-the-art including our philosophy of care.  Gregory Glasscock, PhD, MD, NICU Medical Director, subscribes to family centered care. Depending on the clinical picture of the infant, the goal is to get family members involved, to make them part of the care team. "Babies thrive with that kind of care," says Glasscock. "And when babies are stabilized enough to be held skin to skin, we encourage that."  Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System's neonatology unit is a Level III facility that is recognized nationally as a gem of regional care. In addition to diagnostic and treatment tools generally only found at large urban hospitals, Stanford physicians oversee treatment.
