Education plays an important role in the journey for cancer patients and their families. We offer regularly scheduled support groups, workshops, classes, a Survivorship program, a Breast Health Program and Nutrition Counseling through our Cancer Resource Center, all facilitated by credentialed health care professionals. They are free and are offered to the community as a whole, not just patients at Salinas Valley Memorial.
Cancer Resource Center -The Cancer Resource Center offers patients, family members and the public information on cancer diagnosis, treatment, risk reduction and emotional support throughout the cancer journey.
Support Groups, Workshops and Classes -The Comprehensive Community Cancer Program of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System offers a variety of support groups and educational programs for cancer patients and their families.
Nutrition Counseling -A healthy lifestyle—including good nutrition and regular exercise—has not only been found to aid in disease prevention, but can also help the body recover from illness as well as the side effects of treatment.
