The Cancer Care Committee is a multidisciplinary group responsible for directing all aspects of our Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. The Cancer Care Committee provides program leadership by participating with administration in developing objectives, strategic plans, and approval and implementation of all new programs as well as providing oversight of the ongoing oncology program. Committee members, represent all related areas of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System. The Committee meets bimonthly to assess, approve and implement the accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. It also develops objectives to carry out programs and meet ongoing goals that support all areas of our continuum of cancer care.
The goal adopted by the Cancer Care Committee is to support the continuum of cancer care by providing:
• Prevention and risk reduction
• Early detection and diagnosis
• Staging and treatment
• Education and support
