David Kasting, MD Gregory Glasscock, MD Virginia Meade, DO

David S. Kasting, MD has been the Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) since it opened in December 2001. After graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1971, he completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Stanford University Medical Center and Fellowships in neonatology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec and Stanford University Medical Center.

Dr. Kasting joined the faculty of Stanford University School of Medicine as Acting Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in 1978. In 2001, he became Clinical Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. Kasting is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the Sub-Board of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. He resides in Monterey County.

Gregory F. Glasscock, MD, PhD, is Associate Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He graduated with a PhD in physiology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981 and earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 1985. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Oakland, a Fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco and a neonatology Fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center.

His teaching career began in 1977 when he was a Teaching Associate for human gross anatomy at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine since 2002. Dr. Glasscock is board-certified in pediatrics and perinatal-neonatology. He resides in Salinas.

Virginia Meade, DO, joined the Medial Staff of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare system in 2004. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. She completed her general pediatric internship and residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, and a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at Indiana University, Indianapolis. She became a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Meade is board certified in pediatrics. She resides in Monterey County.
