  • Art & Music Therapy

    What does creativity have to do with coping with illness? Turns out, quite a bit. The creative process, including art and music, can help patients and their loved ones deal openly and honestly with the physical and emotional effects of illness.

  • Pet Therapy

    There is something about a happy face, furry coat and loving heart that brightens a day. In fact, our patients say our pet therapy program takes their minds off their worries. Run by our dedicated volunteers, the project brings well behaved, loving animals to our patient bedsides.

  • Patient Ambassadors

    These volunteers visit patients throughout the hospital, providing hospitality services including: Advance Directive assistance, meditation techniques, light touch massage, books, games and other services.

  • Interpreters

    Communication help is available. We never want language to be a barrier to comfort, wellness and peace of mind. There is a Spanish language interpreter on duty around the clock. Dual handset phones provide language assistance for more than 170 languages. Many units have internet access that allows a video language line for sign language and other forms of interpretation.

  • Phone call to Lifeline

    LIFELINE

    LIFELINE is HELP, 24/7! Thanks to this emergency response program, someone is standing by 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, responding within seconds after the press of a button. Call (831) 755-0788 for more information or apply online.

  • Tele-Care

    Tele-Care is a FREE service for individuals who live alone, especially for those who are not well. Each morning a Service League Volunteer phones the homes of Tele-Care members. If there is no answer, a second call is made to someone who can check to make certain the Tele-Care member is all right. For more information, call (831) 755-0772 or apply online.

  • Valet Parking

    Free Valet Parking

    At Salinas Valley Memorial, we want to make your visit as convenient as possible.  Valet parking is available at the hospital's main entrance for patients and visitors free of charge.

  • Photo Fruits and Veggies

    Farmers' Market

    Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System holds a Farmers' Market each Friday 2p.m. to 6p.m. at the corner of Wilgart Way and East Romie Lane. Vendors bring their fresh produce—fruits, vegetables and flowers. Our staff enjoys the opportunity to pick up good, quality produce each week and we invite you to join us in the healthy choices offered at our Friday Farmers' Market.

Clinical Trials @ SVMHS

A clinical trial is a research study conducted with a cancer patient, usually to evaluate new treatments. Each trial is designed to determine better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat people with cancer. Most of today's treatments for cancer are based on the results of past clinical trials.
