Doctors Training Program
Clinical Training
In 1999, the Regional Heart Program began a clinical training program that provides physicians with a two-day, hands-on training experience in some of today's most advanced surgical and catheterization techniques. Each year, approximately six courses are held at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for physicians from around the country.
Interventional Insights: A Hands-on PVD Preceptorship Program is designed to provide exposure to and hands-on experience in all aspects of peripheral vascular disease. This course is designed for physicians specializing in interventional cardiology and vascular surgery who would like to expand their knowledge of peripheral vascular disease treatment. This CME preceptorship program will allow attendees to participate in all activities related to the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
The course consists of a two-day preceptorship that will provide attendees with hands-on, practical clinical experience. The course is supplemented by video case review, interactive didactic lectures, and coding/billing instruction.
The agenda includes:
- Renal artery stenting
- SFA angioplasty
- Limb salvage and thrombolysis
- Aorto-iliac angioplasty and stenting
- Atherectomy and stenting
- Subclavian artery stenting
