Ask The Experts

Ask The ExpertsAsk The Experts is a FREE community lecture series, offered by SVMHS covering various medical issues. The foundation of any health and wellness program is awareness and education. Our Ask The Experts events take place on a monthly basis and provide either a panel of experts or physicians and individuals with medical expertise on topics of interest. The free events provide the community an opportunity to learn and have their questions answered.  For more information, call the Health Promotion Department at 831.759.1890.

2014 Schedule of Events

 Wednesday, August 6th Orthopedic Surgery

The two primary benefits of joint replacement are pain relief and improved mobility. These two factors allow most people to maintain a more active lifestyle and that can lead to other health benefits such as weight management and reducing risk of heart disease. In some cases, the surgeon can also improve the alignment of deformed joints with joint with joint replacement surgery. This can improve both the function and physical appearance of the joints.

The Joint Replacement Center of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System offers comprehensive care for people undergoing joint replacement surgery.  And best of all, you can stay close to home, work, family and friends rather than traveling outside of the area for state-of-the-art care.  The Joint Replacement Center at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System is the first center in Monterey County to be certified by The Joint Commission (TJC).  That means we meet or exceed the national standards of care and have a top-notch team of surgeons, specially trained nurses, physical therapists and other dedicated professionals.  Learn more here http://www.svmh.com/services/joint/default.aspx
