Spending most of her life in chilly Buffalo, New York, Aman Shamaa, PA-C, is happy to have embarked on a new chapter of her career here on the Central Coast.

Shamaa completed a dual bachelor’s/master’s degree summa cum laude in physician assistant studies at Daemen University in Amherst, New York in 2017.

Following service in a variety of specialties including hospital medicine, urgent care, and occupational medicine, Shamaa found her true interest in hematology/oncology. Inspired by personal experiences with close family members fighting cancer, she is committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients.

In the dynamic field of hematology/oncology, Shamaa understands the importance of staying abreast of the latest advancements in treatment modalities. She is dedicated to continuing education, regularly attending national conferences to ensure her patients receive the most current and effective care available. Earning multiple honors and awards for scholarship and leadership, Shamaa presented her case report on Rapidly Progressive Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy, An Atypical Presentation for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at the annual medical symposium of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, New York.

Shamaa is adept at examining patients independently with hematologic conditions, active cancer diagnoses and those in remission surveillance. She has extensive knowledge of management of chemotherapy plans and treatment of patient reactions during onsite chemotherapy infusions. Shamaa works diligently to educate supportive staff, fellow advanced practice clinicians, and patients about hematologic and oncologic conditions.

Outside of Salinas Valley Health, Shamaa enjoys exploring and sightseeing at her new home base, playing tennis, and hiking.
