The Comprehensive Cancer Center of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System offers people with cancer a complete, local resource for education, prevention, detection, treatment and support. With a team of highly skilled oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, nurses and other dedicated health care professionals, state-of-the-art equipment for detection and treatment, and access to advanced clinical trials and consultations, people can receive world-class cancer care while staying close to home, family and friends. Included are some additional services our Comprehensive Cancer Center offers our patients.

Nutrition Counseling — Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital's Comprehensive Cancer Center offers nutrition services in support of cancer treatment and healing. Cancer treatment and the disease process itself may sometimes affect appetite and intake. Patients admitted to the Comprehensive Cancer Center benefit from the individualized care and services of a registered dietitian to help prevent or ameliorate unwanted cancer-related side effects.

Hospice — Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice. The non-profit Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice has provided high-quality home care services in this region since 1951.

Cancer Registry — The Cancer Registry manages an extensive data system that collects, analyzes and reports information on all cancer patients diagnosed and/or treated at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital.

Pain Management and Palliative Care — Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System has an interdisciplinary team that is available to patients that have a non-curable disease or are at the end of life.

Touch Therapy — Reiki — Reiki and other touch therapies are energy based therapeutic interventions used largely by the nursing profession to help those in pain or who are experiencing anxiety, tension, or stress. These complimentary modalities are built on a philosophy of caring for the whole person — body, mind, emotions and spirit. Touch therapies can be used alone or with other healing modalities including traditional medicine to accelerate the body's natural healing process.

Art Therapy — help patients and their loved ones grapple with tough issues around a cancer diagnosis.
