Patient Navigator
A Patient Navigator is a volunteer cancer survivor, caregiver, or health care professional who has been specially trained by American Cancer Society to help cancer patients during their time of need. Patient navigators do not offer medical advice.
Cancer patients and their families receive free one-on-one emotional support and practical information. In addition to: daily health, treatment/side effects, nutrition, pain management, and community resources, your Patient Navigator will:
- enhance your ability to cope with cancer
- help you regain a sense of control
- help you find information, or frame questions about your cancer
- listen, share, walk with you, be with you
