Pete Delgado, President/CEO
Pete Delgado joins Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System as a seasoned healthcare executive who has served in various leadership positions throughout his career.
Delgado held his first hospital CEO position in 1985. His experience spans diverse environments. Most recently, he was CEO of Los Angeles County and University of Southern California (LAC + USC) Healthcare Network, one of the largest Trauma Centers in America, and the primary teaching facility of the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He was also CEO of Kaiser Health Plan and Hospitals in San Rafael and Santa Rosa; CEO of Columbia Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas; and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System in San Antonio, Texas.
His educational background includes a Master of Science in Hospital Administration from Texas Woman’s University, and he completed his undergraduate degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of Houston.
Delgado serves on several health care boards including California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems, California Health Care Safety Net Institute, and the Hospital Association of Southern California. In 2009, Hispanic Business Magazine recognized him as one of the Top 100 Influential People.
