In addition there is an endless variety of recreational and cultural activities including the National Steinbeck Center located in the heart of charming Old Town Salinas and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium on the water in Monterey. Racing fans flock to Laguna Seca. The Monterey County Fairgrounds are an annual pilgrimage for jazz lovers and fans of the world renowned Monterey Jazz Festival.
