Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Board of Directors. This position fills the unexpired term of former board member Rafael Garcia who recently resigned due to family obligations.

Salinas Valley Memorial is a public district Healthcare System and is governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors, each serving a staggered, four-year term, and each representing a specific zone within the district. Board members receive a $100 stipend for each meeting attended with a maximum of $500 per month.

The appointee must be a registered voter and a resident of the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System District Zone 3. The person appointed to this position must not have plans to move from Zone 3 before the end of the term on December 4, 2020.

Chris Orman represents District 1 and is President of the SVMHS Board of Directors. Margaret D’Arrigo-Martin is Vice President and represents District 4, Carmen Gil, MPA serves as Secretary and represents District 5, newly elected member and Assistant Treasurer Carissa Purnell, EdD represents District 2. Board meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month except for the months of November and December, when meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month.

The Board of Directors intends to make the appointment to fill this vacancy on March 16, 2017 at 8:30am.
