SVMHS Names Augustine Lopez as CFO

Salinas, CA (June 5, 2013)- Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) has named Augustine Lopez as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Lopez joins SVMHS from Southern California where he was CFO for San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, owned by AHMC Healthcare, Inc. 

Lopez is a seasoned finance executive with more than 25 years of progressive healthcare experience in diverse environments, including non-profit, for-profit, academic and practice management healthcare organizations. He has extensive experience in partnering corporate finance with core operation and business development strategies, a strong success record in profitability, development and execution of turnaround and restructuring plans, and clinical integration expertise.

Lopez has held several CFO positions including: Redlands Community Hospital, Alvarado Hospital Medical Center, West Penn Hospital & Allegheny General Hospital and Greater El Monte Community Hospital. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.

Lopez replaces Robert Dvorak who came out of retirement to serve as interim CFO for two years. Dvorak was instrumental in creating systems and procedures necessary for the financial success of Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System. Lopez assumed the role of CFO on May 20, 2013.
