Nurse of the Year
Jeanne Hayashi, RN III Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Jeanne Hayashi, RN, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, is Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System's Nurse of the Year. She joined SVMHS as a nurse's aide in 1979 and graduated from the nursing program at Hartnell College in 1983. In addition to providing care for patients following surgery, Jeanne has initiated, led and participated in numerous collaborative efforts to implement evidence based nursing practices that enhance patient care and satisfaction throughout SVMHS. Her energy and dedication to her patients, co-workers and profession are exemplary. She's known and respected as a passionate patient advocate, a mentor to other nurses and as a partner with physicians, nurses and staff throughout SVMHS.

Kyle Dixon Senior Buyer, Materials Management
Kyle Dixon, Senior Buyer, Materials Management, is Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System's Employee of the Year. He joined SVMHS and the Materials Management Department in 2000 and quickly became known for his dedication to his team, his work, the organization and our patients. As Senior Buyer, he leads his team in ensuring that the Surgery Department always has supplies and materials it needs for patient care. It's second nature for him to do everything in his power to help team members succeed and enjoy their work. His contributions, commitment to doing his very best at all times, and excellent communication skills are extraordinary. He is considered a mentor and friend by all those who know him.
